Poverty, by America – By Matthew Desmond

Why do we have poverty in the richest country in the world?  What does our faith have to say about poverty?  What can be done to help people who are living in poverty?  The Unity Task Force will host a discussion of Poverty, by America by Matthew Desmond (2023) on four Thursday nights in August–August 8, 15, & 22–in the church parlor at 7 pm.  All are invited.  Together we will explore the challenges poverty poses and we’ll share ideas for addressing this longstanding problem.  For the second session on August 8, we’ll be discussing chapters 3 & 4 of Poverty, by America.
