What the Lessons and Legacies of the Civil Rights Movement in the U S South Can Tell Us Today:
A Virtual Travel – Study Seminar with Pastor Judy
In 2024, a group of 30 participants and leaders journeyed to the US South with the Presbyterian Peacemaking Program to explore the legacies and lessons of the Civil Rights Movement and their implications for us today. They visited historically important sites of the civil rights movement, learned about the lives of the people who made up the movement, met with leaders and veterans of the movement who shared stories of those times, and wrestled with the legacies of racism and white supremacy even as they reappear in our communities and nation today. Join us for a thought-provoking “tour” of the South in Adult Forum this coming Sunday, April 19 and again on the following Sunday, April 26 at 8:45 in the Parlor.
