SUMMARY:Adult Forum
DESCRIPTION:Many Christians value the power of prayer\, but is prayer enough? There are Christian activists who dismiss prayer as part of the familiar “thoughts and prayers” offered instead of action or policy change after a disaster. How do we reconcile these competing opinions about the value of prayer and is there possibly a connection between political action and prayer? Read the article Pentecostalism for the people to gain insights to these questions\, then join us at Adult Forum in the Parlor for a deeper dive and discussion. \nhttps://tinyurl.com/34zdjpxx

SUMMARY:Adult Forum
DESCRIPTION:Larry Rogers\, Farm Director at the Princeton Farminary\, will talk about how hands-on experience with small-scale\, sustainable agriculture is helping theology students understand God’s creation. \nThe Farminary — a former sod and Christmas tree farm on the outskirts of Princeton — has been part of Princeton Seminary for the last 10 years.  It’s a place where theology students practice small-scale agriculture\, learning (among other things) about ecology\, sustainability and food justice\, and about living in a rhythm governed by seasons and the Sabbath. \n

SUMMARY:Adult Forum
DESCRIPTION:Native Lands of the Southwest with the Presbyterian Peacemaking Program \nWe all yearn for peace\, but peacemaking is one of our most difficult\, if not overwhelming\, challenges. We are called to work toward justice and reconciliation\, but where to begin?  In 2023 Rev. Judy Dwyer traveled to the American Southwest with the Presbyterian Peacemakers to see some of the things that are hidden from our eyes and prevent us from knowing how to make peace with our Indigenous neighbors.  Join us for a two-week series as Judy offers a look at the complicated role of the church in the history of American Indigenous peoples. Come and see how efforts being made in this context of conflict and injustice are paving the way toward peace. Come away feeling hopeful! \n
