World Communion Sunday Feasting

As we turn the calendar to October, many of of will be thinking of a treasured tradition at APC, the joyful feast that grows directly from World Communion Sunday. Sharing breads from around the world is a treat for both the body and the spirit as we gather around tables and enjoy new breads and those lovingly made year after year by members who want to share them.

We hope on this fall weekend you might put some of those new ‘quarantine baking skills’ to work and produce one of these favorites or a traditional family favorite. Then use this bread for communion during our livestream worship Sunday, October 4, at 10am. Continue the spirit of APC’s tradition by planning to make a loaf for communion and one to share with a neighbor or friend in need of connection.

Of course we cannot gather in the same ways and numbers on this World Communion Sunday, but we want to be gathered in ways that draw us to one another and remind us of our connections both personal and spiritual. To that end Worship Council is grateful to Sally Bowie for providing these recipes. Sally has helped to spearhead this celebration with many helping hands over the years and collected these attached recipes she has made.
