About the program leader: Frank Champine was born in Philadelphia in 1944. He attended Mother of the Savior Seminary in Blackwood, NJ and La Salle University. He started teaching history in the Neshaminy School District, Langhorne, PA in 1968. He also served as an adjunct professor at the University of Pennsylvania and La Salle University and spent 10 years as an educational consultant. In 2003, after retiring from Neshaminy, he was diagnosed with breast cancer. It is at that point in his life that he began formal instruction in Chinese Meditative Brush Painting. The meditative process of this art form helped him through the trials of his cancer treatment.
