2017 Annual Report

2018 Capital Campaign Commitment Card

May 27, 2018

This Sunday is Trinity Sunday.  Scripture lessons will be Isaiah 6:1-8 and John 3:1-17 with the sermon entitled, “God is Not Flat.”  We will have our regular 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. worship services indoors.  On Sunday, June 3, our early service will begin its summer practice of meeting outdoors on the lawn on the north side of the sanctuary, weather permitting.

Thanks to all who participated in our Church Has Left the Building mission practices last weekend.  Over 150 people were involved in tangible worship and ministry practices.  That it all happened on Pentecost Sunday, a time when the Holy Spirit moved the believers beyond their gathering place added to the significance of the event.  Thanks to all who were involved in planning and carrying out these practices which conveyed God’s love broadly.

The church office will be closed on this Monday for Memorial Day.  Starting next week, our summer office hours do take effect until Labor Day.  The office will be open from Monday through Thursday, 8:30 – 3:30.  The office will be closed on Fridays during the summer.

Capital Campaign giving envelopes are now available for pick up in the church narthex.  As a result of your generous gifts and pledges, we hope to be able to announce a schedule for initial construction projects soon!

Looking ahead:

The next Theological Book Club gathering is Saturday, June 2 at 8 a.m.  We’ll be discussing the book, Why the Reformation Still Matters by Michael Reeves and Tim Chester.  Breakfast food is provided.

Young Adults are headed to see the Phillies play the Brewers on Friday, June 8th.  For more information, please email YoungAdultsAPC@gmail.com

All-Church Picnic following the 10 a.m. worship service on Sunday, June 10.  Hot dogs, hamburgers, and drinks will be provided; members and friends are asked to bring a picnic side dish or dessert to share.

Vacation Bible School is coming June 18-22, 9 a.m. to noon each day.  Ages 4 through 6th grade are welcome, but please register ahead of time.

29 APCers will be heading to Maine for a Mission Trip at the end of June to work with an organization that seeks to meet housing needs of those who are poor, elderly, or disabled.  There are suggestions on how to financially support this trip (tank of gas, work gloves, etc.) on the church hall bulletin board.  Thank you!

With joy in serving along with you,

Kirby Lawrence Hill
